the ripples


apparently not many groups utilize the choir space.  edwina arrived and immediately introduced a new idea – using light (or color, or smell!) to invoke the eco-systems we were supposed to represent.  she devised a system to construct a row of glass upon which she would pour water to be lit from below. the water ripples are projected above, along the wall and ceiling. it looks like sunlight bouncing off of a might river or a swimming pool.  or our rainwater aqueduct? one might even say it glows!  right now, you can make the ripples happen by tugging on ropes hanging down from either side of the choir.  i think it would be cool to set a subwoofer below the water so that a performer or gallery visitor could make ripples via sound.  we have some experiments in mind…
